Strawberry Smoothie
June 17 2007
These jewel-like berries are both rich in fibre to promote good digestion, which is essential for overall health and wellbeing. Try adding a handful to your breakfast cereal for a nutritious start to the day. A berry smoothie makes a quick summer breakfast
8 fresh strawberries
1 banana
1 tablespoon of live plain yoghurt (St Helens Goatsmilk yoghurt is fab!)
1 teaspoon of tahini (sesame seed) paste (optional)
Whizz the fresh berries in a blender with the banana, plain, live yoghurt and a teaspoon of tahini paste. If you like it icy, add some crushed ice cubes.
To ring the changes add raspberries or peaches.
If you prefer to be fruity at the end of the day rather than the beginning, for a simple summer dessert, make a fruit salad of strawberries, raspberries and sliced peaches or nectarines and serve with some plain, live yoghurt !
