How To Keep Farmers Market Veggies Fresh
December 07 2010
CARE OF CHRISTMAS VEG
All of our Christmas veggies bought from Farmers Markets can be kept in tip top condition by trying the following:
Store root veggies and potatoes (without washing) by wrapping them in newspaper or sacking to exclude light and conserve moisture in a cool but frost-free space
Cabbages can be stored the same way if you have no room in the fridge
Plant sprout sticks in the garden or in a window box. Placing outside will avoid them going yellow. You can then use them as required
Put salads and leafy veg in the salad crisper at the bottom of the fridge
