Farmers Markets in Derbyshire
The Peak District has a vast range of distinctive produce, from Bakewell pudding (it is different to the tart!) to Ashbourne gingerbread and Hartington cheese, and buying these delicious goodies helps to boost the local rural economy.
Many of these producers also hold the Peak District Environmental Quality Mark, supporting the National Park's natural assets and the environment.
As always, Farmers Markets support your local farming community and you can ask them about the delicious fresh local produce that you are buying!
As a quick guide, there is a summary below, with addresses following for those who do not know the area. Please tell them that you found them on SUSU Organic!:
Bakewell Farmers Market - Last Saturday of the month from 9 am-2 pm (except July)
Belper - 2nd Saturday of every month 9am - 2pm
Buxton – 1st Thursday of every month from 10 am-3pm (except January and August)
Castleton - first Sunday of the month from 10 am to 3 pm
Chesterfield - 2nd Thursday of every month 10am - 4pm
Derby - 3rd Thursday of every month 9am - 3pm
