Environmental Policy
SUSU Organic Environmental Policy
SUSU organic is committed to being an environmentally responsible business. With this in mind we are committed to continually improving our own environmental performance.
Our commitments:
• Supporting environmentally responsible materials and technologies by promoting the use of organic whenever possible.
• Minimise and deal responsibly with all our waste and endeavour to recycle as much material as possible
• Using packaging which minimises waste and resource use
• Reducing our contribution to climate change through efficient use of energy and the use of renewable energy sources
• Promoting a purchasing policy which will give preference as far as practicable to suppliers who share our commitment to the environment
• Communicating our policies clearly to customers & suppliers
We will ensure continuous improvement in our environmental performance by:
• Providing training and raising awareness among employees
• Taking part in local & national projects which promote sustainable development
• Asking our advertisers to agree our statement of commitment to ethical trading
• Meeting our statutory environmental obligations
• Monitoring our environmental performance
Examples of our principles in action:
• In 2007 we will promote the use of FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) certified paper carrier-bags. We will also offer customers bags which are biodegradable, organically grown and reusable.
