Eat Slowly And Lose Weight
June 30 2009
SLOW DOWN AND ENJOY YOUR FOOD AND YOU MAY EAT LESS!
Research in Japan has shown that people who eat their food too quickly are twice as likely to be overweight than people who eat slowly. This is because it takes time for our appetite regulating hormones to register that we are full and if we don’t allow time for this to happen, we can eat too much. So, it pays to eat in a leisurely and relaxed manner and enjoy the food on your plate. Savour the different colours, textures and tastes and you will certainly enjoy your food more!
Also, it has been shown that the wider the choice of food available, the more we are likely to eat. People are likely to eat around 30% more when confronted with choice, so avoid buffets at BBQ’s and in restaurants this summer if you are trying not to put on weight.
