One of the winners in the BSI Sustainability Awards is a personal Carbon Calculator, called the Carbon Hero ™

About the same size as a mobile phone, you can calculate your carbon footprint as the Carbon Hero ™ identifies how you are moving around, by calculating the speed of your travel, pattern of your activity and relative location. How clever is that?!

The designer is Andreas Zaccariah, graduating with an MA in Industrial Design Engineering, and the information collected can be downloaded on to a PC or mobile phone, and the amount of carbon used is calculated. You can even buy credits to offset the amount used.

Watch this space – I will be the first to buy one if and when they become available!
