Susu Organic - Your Green Eco-friendly Guru
SUSU Organic has a fantastic Green and Organic Eco-Directory, but I don't just want a directory of businesses that are willing to pay for advertising. I want to provide a directory of businesses that you will be happy to tell your friends and family about.
In the SUSU Organic directory you will find ethical and credible organic, green, and eco-friendly businesses, providing honest quality products and services. SUSU Organic is a site where you can find people providing Soil Association certified organic skincare, organic toiletries and organic food. Where you can find a hotel, bed and breakfast, or restaurant that provides organic and locally sourced produce. I want to put all of these trusted businesses on this site - all the obscure people that we would all love to find so that we can buy reclaimed timber furniture and funky recycle bins for our home, or find organic mulch for our garden. 'Green' covers an eclectic mix of businesses, including Eco-friendly and organic baby clothes and products, Environmentally-friendly toiletries, skincare and household products, Eco-furniture, Eco-friendly holidays and Hotels, restaurants and cafes that serve organic and/or local produce
The thing that all of the businesses on this site have in common is that they are providing quality products or services that are eco-friendly, organic or locally sourced, and support local businesses wherever possible
SUSU Organic wants to support farmers markets and organic vegetable boxes so that the farmers receive a fairer price for their produce, and the customers have the benefit of eating locally grown food without it having travelled by plane somewhere first. I want us to try farm shops, to eat at restaurants that buy their food locally, to be able to find the people that sell organic food, or organic clothes or ensure their staff get a fair wage, or own a hotel that is 'doing their bit' to recycle.
I am an Interior Designer (SUSU Interior Design) and so 'do my bit' to buy locally produced furniture and products, sustainable products and materials that can be recycled. I am a disciple of the Grand Designs Exhibitions and think it is FANTASTIC that so many people are coming up with ideas for recycling or green energy or products that are eco-friendly and will not harm the environment.
But I did not have the time to trawl through the internet, finding site after site that had tenuous links to the things I was searching for, struggling to find all of the great people with fantastic organic and eco-friendly businesses, and because many of the articles I read on ‘green’ issues seemed to give conflicting advice I sometimes felt like giving up altogether.
So I came up with SUSU Organic - a place where customers share our passion and where you can read really useful articles about green and organic issues. (I also have a BSc 2:1 Honours Degree in Human Genetics and use my research skills when looking at the science to give you the information, without the added hype needed to sell stories, so that you can make an informed choice).
